Flight Tracker widget

Mark asked me to pick him up from the Airport today. I thought it would be a nice opportunity to test out the Flight Tracking widget in Dashboard. (click to play)

This is a lot nicer than hacking OAG to deliver me the flight information like in the “old days” (4 years ago). (I love how browser-unfriendly these travel sites are. And people wonder why everyone hates to fly!) This widget also has a nice flight delay update feature which I don’t show in the movie. The data is provided by FlyteComm.

I thought I’d use this as an opportunity to try Google Video Upload, but unfortunately, after using the Java client provided, I found that they mean Google Video Upload literally. There is no way to allow others to download the content. (That’s the “next phase.”) How totally pointless!
