Are cameraphones the next Holga?

Hugh Symond’s photo gallery of pictures taken from a camera phone make me wonder if camera phones are the next Holga.

The LOMO traits have turned the Holga into a cachet device for getting unique and artistic shots now that Holga has disappeared. Such things have spawned a healthy niche market, Photoshop actions to mimic it, even lenses that dumb down your SLR.

I wonder if many years from now there will be a bunch of people thinking similarly about today’s cameraphone.

All I know is that Hugh Symond’s shots have got me thinking…
