Every summer, the Wikimedia Foundation sponsors a conference somewhere around the world that is ass-hot. This year, it was in Hong Kong. It’s a shame that I stopped photographing because there was so much to see.
I don’t remember what I was doing here. I was probably looking for something to eat, and just decided to take some snapshots. I find it interesting how once you get used to living somewhere, you don’t see anything around you worth photographing. However, when you travel, the photographer’s eye returns and even the mundane urges you to use a camera, whatever camera you have on you.
I was impressed with the quality of the camera on the new iPhone 5, even if its new SIM card format was inconvenient to have when traveling at that time. Capturing using Pro HDR allowed me to shoot pretty well in both low light and bright light.
Since this was a JPEG, processing meant slight angle adjustment and white balance changes followed by some tweaks to saturation and vibrance. Lightroom has a lens profile for the iPhone however Pro HDR keeps it from getting recognized automatically.
And, just in case you were wondering… Solar Woman and Darkman, along with Witchywoman an Truthman were born in response to the world’s painful. Their job is to root out the prejudiced and the discriminatory. Don’t take my word for it.
