I just got the $50 rebate (in the form of a prepaid visa). So, it means that I got my iphone for free, nearly. I bought a refurb from AT&T for $249 ($270 including tax). I netted $222 after shipping and fees from the sale of the Blackjack II. With the $50 rebate, I came out a couple of dollars ahead.

Thanks for the advice

I'm in the process of pulling the trigger on the deal. I've purchased an 8GB iphone (refurb) from At&T. And, I bought Blackjack II from Letstalk. The Blackjack is free (out the door) from letstalk and has an extra $50 MIR. I'm going to ebay the blackjack for very close to the purchase price of the iphone. They are currently going from about $215-260. So, after fees, I'll be within a few bucks of what I paid for the iphone. And, if I get the extra $50 MIR, I'll be a little up on the deal.

I tried Letstalk and ATT and the iPhone purchase, and everything went smoothly. I was up $125 after instant rebates. There was a $50 ATT rebate and a $75 Letstalk rebate that I passed on. I passed on it, because I wanted to preserve the box for a quick sale of the Blackberry for $250. Without the box, it was probably worth $250. You should still be able to use the rebates because the rebate company wants a bar code from a letter (you have it), a UPC box label (you have that), and a bill showing you use an expensive data plan (you have that with the IPhone). Try it and write back here if you are only up $125 instead of $250. I should note that you are simply replacing equipment on the account, which you could do if you lost your Blackberry. Good luck and have fun with it.

Will letstalk kill your rebates (mail-in or instant) if you never actually activate that phone (or keep it in service for 6mos) before moving on to your iphone? I'm interested in giving your plan a try, but I'm concerned that they'll revoke the rebates if I never actually use the phone I ordered from them.

Wouldn't you know it. Just after I switch to electronic statements, <a href="http://crave.cnet.com/8301-1_105-9765183-1.html?part=rss&tag=feed&subj=Crave" rel="nofollow">AT&T fixes their billing problem</a>.

BTW. 26 pages CNET? You’re failing me!
