Web 2.0 takes on SuperBowl commercials

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

Mischa mentioned that a bunch of Web 2.0 companies wanted to get in on the whole SuperBowl ad thing. Being Web 2.0 and not Web 1.0, they put their commercials on YouTube. Here is one from “the bunch of monkeys” I used to work for:

Their budget? $50 for the bar tab. Sure beats wasting 2 [...]

Better living through laws?

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

I saw this article on the front page of the Merc today. Someone is proposing to ban sales of incandescent light bulbs by 2012 (to replace them with CFLs).
Even though they wreck havoc on photography, I only buy CFLs instead of incandescents. But does anyone else think this is a backwards way to go about [...]

Unbreakable?

Monday, January 29th, 2007

I’m trying to download Oracle SQL Developer for Mac OS X. In order to do that, I need to register; when I register, it locks up Firefox.
I know Oracle is unbreakable, but that doesn’t mean breaking the web browser guys.

(It worked in Safari just fine.)

HTML in Outlook 2007

Monday, January 29th, 2007

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

PE6-5000

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007

Dave sent me an article noting the end of the Hotel Pennsylvania in New York.

I’m half tempted to SkypeOut 212-736-5000 just to listen to the song.

On sensor cleaning and “the Copperhill Method”

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

I received a slightly over-direct e-mail from Nicholas at Copper Hill Images concerning a recent post I made about sensor cleaning.
I won’t post a private e-mail here without permission. The gist of it I’ll get into below but this is as good a place as any to leave some room to talk about sensor cleaning.
[How [...]

My Mac is Brilliant

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

I was reading Presentation Zen, when I happened upon this James Blount/Apple homage:

I’m not too sure what to think.
